Open House Programs

students and parents asking questions at open house

Pitt-Johnstown Open House programs are designed to present a solid base of knowledge about our campus, its offerings, and our admissions process for those beginning their college search. Future students and their parents will have the opportunity to hear from Admissions personnel, speak with faculty from various academic divisions, and take about a one-hour walking tour of campus led by one of our knowledgeable tour guides.

Join us for our Spring Open House program on Saturday, April 4, 2020.

Please register at check-in on the day of the event, or contact the Admissions Welcome Center at 855-LIKE-UPJ. See event location and times below.

If you are interested in visiting, but cannot attend an open house program, please contact the Admissions Welcome Center at 855-LIKE-UPJ and schedule a weekday visit.

Open House Programs begin in Blackington Hall.

Registration is at 9 a.m., the program starts at 9:30 a.m. and usually concludes by noon.

The programs are group presentations, allowing greater interaction among prospective students. The groups typically are not large, but the Open House programs are somewhat less intimate than the one-on-one weekday visits. The morning's agenda provides you with the opportunity to interact with Admissions personnel, and current Pitt-Johnstown faculty and students.

Registration/Check-In and Refreshments

Check in at Blackington Hall and help yourself to a continental breakfast, and browse the information area. Admissions staff will be available to answer questions. We ask that you pre-register for the Saturday Open House Programs so that we can prepare for the appropriate number of guests.

Admissions Presentation

An Admissions staff member will cover topics such as the college selection process, the campus, what Pitt-Johnstown has to offer, a brief overview of the financial aid process, scholarship review, and the application process.

Q&A with Faculty

Faculty from each of our six academic divisions will be on hand to personally answer any questions you might have. This is a great resource, whether you've already chosen a major, or are still deciding!

Guided Campus Tour

Seeing the college first-hand is what the campus visit is all about. You'll benefit from the insight of dedicated student tour guides. These are current Pitt-Johnstown students who volunteer their time to direct prospective students and their families around campus. These students live here, eat here, go to class here, and are very often the best source of campus information.
