Pitt-Johnstown Selects Compass Group as New Food Service Provider

Pitt-Johnstown has selected Compass Group as its new food service provider beginning July 1.   President Spectar said, “We are excited to welcome, Compass, a world class organization, to join us in proving an exceptional dining experience that meets our highest expectations for quality, service and satisfaction.  I want to thank the Compass leadership for their positive and constructive engagement throughout the process and look forward to a great partnership.” The selection follows a nearly year-long process to identify the best operator for student dining and on-campus catering services.  The campus reviewed proposals from four operators and selected Compass based on its high quality and innovative dining program, commitment to partnership with Pitt-Johnstown, and high value for UPJ students.

Plans for the Johnstown campus include new menus and new stations with emphasis on promoting health, wellness, and sustainability.  Year two will bring a complete reinvention of the Student Union Dining Hall.  Campus favorites including the Daily Grind, Tuck Shop, and Pitt Stop will continue to operate with reimagined menus and offerings.  Students will have the opportunity to choose from the same meal plan options from the 2019-2020 academic year.  A campus transition team will be working with Compass to ensure a smooth changeover and represent the needs and interests of the students and catering clients.
