Connecting with the Greater Johnstown Area

The Department of Community Engagement is a bridge connecting the Greater Johnstown community with Pitt-Johnstown’s faculty, staff, and students.

Pitt-Johnstown supports initiatives that improve the Greater Johnstown community. The office engages with the community by developing, sustaining, and enhancing programs, and partnerships.

CODE

As part of our CODE (Computational-learning Opportunities in a Digital Environment) for Commonwealth & Country project, Pitt-Johnstown is pioneering an ambitious effort to promote digital learning and is working to develop and support CODE-smart schools in our area.

Civic Engagement

The goal of Civic Engagement is to explore, through service and discussion, the many ways in which Pitt-Johnstown students make a difference in their communities and our world.

Light-Up Night

Moxham Light-Up Night is a special holiday event in which more than 5,000 hours have been devoted since it was launched in 2014. More than 21,000 lights illuminate the Park Avenue Playground in Johnstown’s Moxham neighborhood annually.
