Dear UPJ Alumni, Faculty, and Staff,

As UPJ approaches its Centennial, we find ourselves reflecting on the remarkable people who shaped this institution — professors who challenged us, coaches who pushed us, staff who supported us, and students who inspired us. Every one of us has been touched by someone who made a lasting difference.

In honor of this milestone, we are proud to launch the UPJ Centennial Honor Roll — a community-driven initiative to recognize the people who define what UPJ means to each of us.

On September 25, 2026, the University of Pittsburgh launched a comprehensive capital campaign, and our approaching Centennial gives special meaning to Pitt-Johnstown’s part in it. The UPJ Centennial Fund is an opportunity to honor our past, invest in our future, and demonstrate this community's strength to the world.

Here’s How It Works

01   Nominate, Give, and Recruit Others to Participate
Nominate a faculty member, staff person, or fellow alumnus (living or deceased) who left an impression on your life. You are also invited to donate in honor of your nominee and recruit others to participate.

02   How Nominees Become a Centennial Honoree
When collective donations in honor of any nominee reach $10,000 or more, that person will be named a UPJ Centennial Honoree — permanently recognized as someone who exemplifies the spirit of UPJ. Honorees and donors will be celebrated on campus throughout the campaign.

03   To Make a Milestone Gift
Consider a gift of $100, $1,000, $10,000, or a $100,000 pledge to name a space or endow a fund — every gift makes an impact. To endow a gift ($50,000+) or establish a current-use fund ($25,000) for immediate student impact, contact Lori Singer at lds75@pitt.edu.

One hundred years of UPJ is a milestone worth celebrating. Whether through scholarships, unrestricted gifts, or support for a cause close to your heart, your gift will leave a lasting mark. The impact of those we celebrate today will be felt for the next hundred years — and it is because of your generosity that their story — and yours — lives on.
