Congratulations to the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown 2020 graduates!

Graduation Day

  • Graduates are to report to the Wellness Center Gym between 11:00 a.m. and noon.

  • Doors will open for guests at 11:30 a.m.

  • Guests should be seated by 12:30 p.m.

Important Pre-Commencement Steps for Graduates

It is required for graduates to RSVP to the Ceremony before tickets can be picked up. The online RSVP system will be available soon.

  1. You should have already applied for graduation through the Registrar’s Office. If not, apply for graduation now.
  2. Information about the Commencement Ceremony will be mailed to your home address by January 31, 2020, from the Office of Conference Services. After receiving this information, please RSVP for the ceremony to let us know if you plan to participate or not.
  3. If participating and marching in the Ceremony, please purchase regalia (cap, gown, tassel) through the Pitt-Johnstown Book Center. The regalia price is $38.16 with tax. A souvenir tassel and honor cords may also be purchased for $9.54 each with tax. You may also order personalized graduation announcements, class rings, diplomas frames, flowers, and a commemorative video of the ceremony.
  4. Tickets are required for admission to the live Ceremony. Due to limited seating, each graduate will receive four guest tickets. They will be available February 10-14 in the Student Union during the countdown to graduation festivities. If not picked up then, they will be available at the front desk of the Living/Learning Center April 1-17.  Extra tickets are not available through Conference Services. However, overflow seating is available to those without tickets in the adjacent Wellness Center Gym, where the Ceremony is broadcast live. This area is all one level, air-conditioned, and ideal for guests with mobility issues or sensitivity to heat.  Graduates are required to RSVP online before picking up tickets and will be asked to show proof of regalia purchase and ID when picking up tickets.
  5. More detailed information and instructions will be mailed to graduates that are participating in the ceremony in March.
