John J Byrne, PhD

  • Assistant Professor of Management
  • Chair of Management Programs

I began my travels a long time ago in the US Navy serving on submarines based in Scotland and the Caribbean.  This gave me a unique look on life.  I try to bring this unique look on life to my classrooms.  This unique look is a blend of theory (the world it built on theory); application (theory is nothing if you can’t use it); and humor (where would the world be without humor?).

I teach management classes.  All types of management classes…  Management is one subject we can all use for the rest of our lives.  My list of classes is shown below:

Organizational Behavior Change Management Project Management
Quality Management Supply Chain Management Global Business Management
Ethics and Leadership Business Strategy Management Policy

I like to keep my classes engaging. After all, it is your learning experience; you might as well become a part of it.   So if you like to be engaged in your learning experience, or if you are interested in management, contact me at jbyrne@pitt.edu
