Attention Exempt Students

Please remember that you will need to submit a pre-arrival test before moving onto campus. You will also need to begin your weekly testing the week of January 10.
If you submitted a test through Quest, we will be informed of your result automatically. If you are getting a test elsewhere, you will need to submit an electronic version of your results via email knipple@pitt.edu. The electronic version can be a JPEG or PDF and the document should contain: 1) your name, 2) test date (must have been administered on or after January 1), 3) test type (must be a PCR), and 4) result. Rapid tests are not accepted due to their rate of inaccurate results. Due to the anticipated volume of test results we will be tracking, please do not contact our office asking if we have received your results…we will notify you automatically.
Once we receive your results, you will receive an email from my office confirming you are cleared to come to campus. Please do NOT come to campus unless you have received a confirmation email. You might also be asked to present a copy of that email to the RA in your building upon arrival. Any exempt student arriving on campus without a test result will be sent home, as will any students found inside their residence hall without approval. Failure to read this email message will not be considered a valid excuse to arrive on campus without permission.
Due to the spike in COVID cases across the country, and especially in our region, no students will be permitted to enter a residence hall until they have been approved. If your results are not back in time, remember you have the option of completing your coursework remotely for the first week of the semester.
