SAGE Advice & (Inter)Generational Exchanges

The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown is pleased to announce an exciting initiative to amplify engagement between our campus and our alumni community, to increase student readiness for the real world, to expand networks, and foster social connectedness. The SAGE Advice and (Inter)Generational Exchange (SAGE) program connects students with experienced and successful alumni and members of the external community for engaging discussions and potential collaborations around shared interests, passions, and goals. We believe such two-way conversations and collaborations across the generations can help students as they navigate the collegiate years and prepare for impactful lives after graduation. Equally important, we hope that such intergenerational changes can also contribute to the fulfillment and enrichment of all participants, as well as broadening networks and expanding the all-too-important but increasingly elusive glue of social connectedness.

Are you a UPJ alumni or friend with expertise to share with the next generation of citizen-leaders and community builders? We invite you to participate in this innovative exchange program that will enable you to transmit your knowledge and expertise and also engage with today’s students. Depending on your interest, expertise, and availability, you too may be invited to participate in UPJ SAGE to share expertise and lessons learned in moderated discussions. For those who cannot make the trip to campus, we can organize online/Zoom SAGE talks or projects.
