University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown

Spring Housing Shelter-in-Place

Due to the increase in COVID-19 infections, Pitt-Johnstown will be in a shelter-in-place (SIP) period from beginning Saturday, January 8 through Thursday, January 13.  During this time, students should only leave their residences when necessary, such as to pick up food, exercise safely, attend class, work, shop for essentials or attend to medical needs.

Guest & Visitors

During an SIP, the only individuals permitted in the residence halls are those students who are assigned to that specific building.  No guests (including residents from other buildings, family members, and non-students) are permitted inside any campus residence hall or academic building.

The only exception is for students moving onto campus for the first time.  In those situations, one family member will be permitted in the residence hall on Saturday, January 8 only.  Everyone, regardless of vaccination status, must wear  face covering when inside any University facility.

Dining

All meals in PJ's will be take-out only (no reservations will be required) and self-serve will not be available.  In-person dining, will return beginning with breakfast on Friday, January 14 (provided the shelter-in-place is lifted as planned).  The retail locations (Tuck Shop, Pitt Stop, and Daily Grind) will be open and you can place your orders in person or via the BOOST app.  Don't forget about the convenience of BOOST…place your order on the app and show up to pick it up at the prescribed time.  No lines!  No waiting!
