- How do I commit to Pitt-Johnstown and submit my $100 tuition deposit?

A $100 check or money order and your Intent to Enroll form can be mailed to the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. Go to johnstown.pitt.edu/Commit2Pitt to pay online.
- I haven’t made a campus visit yet; what options do I have?

Visiting campus is the best way to experience life as a Mountain Cat. You’re welcome to visit campus Monday through Friday and select Saturdays. Keep an eye out for our Admitted Student/Senior Decision Days! Visit johnstown.pitt.edu/visit to register!
- How do I apply for an academic scholarship?

Your application for admission serves as your application for academic scholarship consideration. Students who meet scholarship requirements will receive their award letter within 3 weeks of their acceptance.
- Is it possible to change my major after I have been admitted?

- When will I receive my Pitt email account?

Your email account will be created within 48 hours after you submit your tuition deposit. Activation instructions will be sent to the email address provided on your application for admission.
- What placement assessments do I need to complete?

Students must complete the ALKES Math Placement Assessment as part of their academic onboarding. The assessment assists in preparing your academic schedule. Your Academic Division can issue exemptions based on AP exam scores or transferred college math credit.
- How do I receive credit for a college in high school course or from an AP exam?

To transfer college credit, please request an official transcript be sent to the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. Please request that your AP exam scores be sent to the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.
- When will I receive my schedule of classes?

Students can expect to receive their schedule of classes close to Summer Academic Planning Day. You don’t have to worry about a thing! We create your first-semester schedule for you! You will have the opportunity to review your schedule with your academic advisor and make any adjustments before the beginning of classes.
- When should I schedule an appointment to see my academic advisor?

Your advisor will be one of the most influential people during your college career. You will have the opportunity to meet with faculty advisors during one of the summer Academic Planning Days. Once you start the fall term, you should meet with your advisor within the first 3 weeks of the semester. Advising is an ongoing process, and your advisor will help define your academic or career goals and help you choose courses.
- Can I bring a vehicle to campus?

Yes, students can bring a vehicle to campus. All vehicles must be registered with the Office of Campus Police.
- Is there a place to go on campus if I should need help or medical assistance?

- Are there work-study positions available on campus?

Yes, students who qualify for federal work-study can seek out a position. Students can also work via the campus employment program.
- Are there payment plans available?

You can enroll in a PittPAY Payment plan. Options range from 3 to 6 installments each semester.
- When and where do I purchase my textbooks?

Our campus bookstore will provide you with the books needed for class. You will be able to start purchasing books in August once you have received a schedule.
- Do I have to bring my own computer?

No, several computer labs are available for student use, including 24-hour access. And students will have access to the Pitt IT Virtual Lab, which provides a variety of software titles to students through University agreements with vendors, including Microsoft Office 365 and more.
- How do I learn about opportunities for involvement on campus?

As part of Welcome Week, students can attend the Student Life Involvement fair highlighting all clubs and organizations students can join.
- Am I required to live on campus?

The University requires full-time, first-year students to live on campus for four consecutive semesters. A student who resides with parent(s) or legal guardian and lives within a commuting distance of 50 miles from Pitt-Johnstown is exempt. Additional exemptions can be found on the Residency Requirement page.
- My first choice was the Pittsburgh campus. Why wasn’t I accepted there?

Due to the large volume of qualified applicants received at the Pittsburgh campus, admission is highly competitive. However, for students whose academic profile suggests they could benefit from the University's educational philosophy, strengths, and reputation, the Admissions Committee may offer admission to one of the four regional campuses. At Pitt-Johnstown, the oldest and largest regional campus, the same philosophy, strengths, and international reputation are also offered in a scenic and more personalized setting.
- Can I relocate to the Pittsburgh campus?

Yes, students can relocate to the Pittsburgh campus. The requirements to relocate vary depending on the program. Pitt-Johnstown students will meet with the Registrar’s Office and complete the Relocation Form.
