Hillary M Chelednik

Hillary Chelednik is a professor in the Education Division at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, where she teaches methods courses on Early Childhood Education. She earned her PhD in Learning Sciences and Policy from the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Leading. Her research interests include discipline integration, equitable instruction, and relational teaching.

Hillary’s professional background includes experience as an elementary and middle school teacher, grade-level chair, and professional development facilitator. She holds a Master’s degree in Teaching, Learning, and Advocacy with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction from the College of Charleston.

As a researcher, Hillary has contributed to multiple externally funded projects, including McDonnell Foundation–supported studies on instructional coaching and a National Science Foundation–funded research-practice partnership integrating literacy and computer science in grades 5–8. Her dissertation focused on designing accessible integrated instruction in K–8 classrooms.
