Dear UPJ Community,
I am pleased to announce that, following a successful search process, Dawn Miller has been appointed Executive Assistant to the President.
Ms. Miller takes over from Sue Palov, who recently retired after 20 years of excellent service and dedication to the success of UPJ. Our community is immensely grateful to Sue for her exceptional work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and her signature positive attitude and steadfastness, always going above and beyond in support of the success of all community members. Thank you, Sue, you made a tremendous difference! Please join me in congratulating Sue for a job well done and wishing her all the best.
A well-known and beloved colleague to so many in our community, Dawn Miller has held positions of increasing responsibility in several units across our Campus over the past 17 years. Dawn Miller, '24, began her career at Pitt-Johnstown in 2008 as a Division Secretary in Natural Sciences and was subsequently hired as the Administrative Assistant in the new Division of Business and Enterprise. Most recently, Dawn served as the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, supporting a wide range of operations across all seven Academic Divisions.
Colleagues, coworkers, and supervisors who have worked with Dawn describe her as someone with a great work ethic, who is highly organized, service-oriented, a quick learner, a great team player and mentor, personable, fun, and someone who always goes above and beyond. In the years that I have known and worked with Dawn, she has exhibited these laudable traits and more.
When Dawn is not working at UPJ, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, traveling, and working with fiber arts.
Please join me in congratulating Dawn Miller on her new role.
Embrace and enjoy our world.
Jem Spectar, President
