We Make Pitt-Johnstown Technology Work For You
The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown maintains an extensive information technology infrastructure to ensure access to state-of-the-art technology for all members of the campus community in computer laboratories, classrooms, and offices. The department focuses on five specialty units: Information Systems, Mail Room, Printing Services, Technical Services, and User Services.
Information Systems is responsible for the collection, processing, storage, transmission, display, and dissemination of information. Information Systems staff work with both university-wide and local data systems to support the academic and business operations of the campus.
Wireless PittNet is now available in the majority of campus buildings. Wireless PittNet provides wireless access to all University students, faculty, and staff. The service is fast, secure, easy-to-use. Plans to expand the wireless network are underway to expand this service to other campus locations.
Technical Services installs and maintains hardware and system components of the campus’ computers and telephones. This expansive system includes computers, printers, and other electronic technology used in offices, computer laboratories, and classrooms. Staff also work to ensure the integrity of these systems and administer all system upgrades.
Printing Services, commonly called the Print Shop, provides high-quality, low-cost printing for academic departments, administrative offices, faculty, and staff. Both color and black/white printing are available in a variety of sizes, formats, and binding options.
Use of Printing Services is encouraged for any size print job as costs are significantly less than printing similar jobs on office printers.
Requests for Printing Services can be submitted via the Campus Services website ».
