Spring 2023 Move-In Details
Residence halls will reopen at 8 a.m., Sunday, January 8 for returning students.
- Returning students should check in with their RA prior to reporting to their rooms so they can be officially checked in. (Students arriving after January 8 should notify Housing and Dining Services in advance so can be indicated as a late arrival.)
- Returning students moving into a different assignment can arrive Saturday, January 7 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. with prior permission (please complete the "early arrival request" on the Johnstown Campus Housing and Dining Services task center at my.pitt.edu). Students who do not have approval to arrive early will not be permitted to come to campus until Sunday, January 8. A $50 overnight charge will be added to the accounts of all students who arrive early without permission.
- New residents can arrive Saturday, January 7 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. with prior permission (please complete the "early arrival request" on the Johnstown Campus Housing and Dining Services task center at my.pitt.edu). Otherwise, new residents can arrive between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., Sunday, January 8. New residents will need to check-in and retrieve their key before moving into their residence hall and are permitted to have two guests assist with moving their belongings into their rooms.

ID Cards
Students who do not have a student ID card will need to submit their photo electronically (the ID Center is NOT take photos in-person currently). ID cards will be sent to students’ home addresses. Visit the ID Center's website for more details. Remember you will need your ID card to access your building and use your meal plan.
