Wi-Fi service in the residence halls is provided by Boldyn Networks (formerly known as Apogee), a global provider of wi-fi services to industries including higher education, healthcare, and hospitality. Boldyn Wi-Fi offers:
- Fast and reliable service
- Ability to connect up to 10 devices simultaneously to the network with guaranteed speeds (100 Mbps downloads/50 Mbps uploads) to each device
- Dedicated support for students 24 hours a day
- Ability to create a personal network to connect your smart devices.
Create an account
- Go to: johnstown.hed.boldyn.com
- Sign in using your university credentials and create account
- Once account has been created, sign back in and click on “show wi-fi password” under Add Devices Tab. You can change your wi-fi password here to something unique.
- You will use this Wi-Fi password to connect your devices to the network.
Connect for the first time
- Go to your wireless settings and connect to “MyResNet Start Here.”
- Open a browser to access the portal.
- Once you have your account set up, forget "MyResnet Start Here" from your list of wireless networks.
- Select "MyResNet-5G" from your list of wireless networks and enter your password.
Connect to the network
- Navigate to the wireless settings on each device
- Connect to MyResNet-5G (Always use 5G, however you can connect to MyResNet2G if your device is not 5G-compatible)
- Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted to connect
- Enable the “auto-join” feature

Things to remember:
- Boldyn Wi-Fi is available in the residence halls only. For all other areas on campus you should connect to WIRELESS-PITTNET.
- Wired internet connections are not available in any residential facilities.
