Housing Cancellations & Changes

Changing Rooms for Fall

All housing spaces are frozen for the first week of classes (August 26-30).  Beginning September 3, all vacancies will be posted on the bulletin board outside the Office of Housing and Dining Services, 130 Student Union.  Students may elect to move into a posted vacancy.  Students should go to Housing and Dining Services to obtain the appropriate paperwork to change rooms.

Housing Cancellations

The deadline for current and incoming students to cancel an existing housing contract is August 1 for the fall term, and December 31 for the spring term.

Barring any outstanding balance on the student’s account, all eligible* students whose cancellations are received on or before the deadline will receive a full refund of the initial $150 housing deposit.  Students cancelling to commute are not eligible to receive a refund of the housing deposit.  Please note that cancelling your housing for the fall term also cancels your housing for the spring term.

Cancelling Your Housing

Before canceling your housing, we encourage you to read the terms and conditions contained in your Housing and Dining Services contract so you are familiar with any penalties you might incur.

To cancel your housing, go to Ask Cathy and:

  • Navigate to My Resources>Housing E-Services
  • Click the Housing & Dining Services
  • Click the Cancel Housing button
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.  You will receive an email confirmation that you have successfully completed the request.

*Cancelling a housing contract to commute from home or an off campus location or due to dismissal from the university will result in forfeiture of the housing deposit and/or appropriate penalties.  Please review the Housing and Dining Services Contract for more details.
